Simple Stamped Images On Note Cards

Simple images stamped onto the front of an ivory water color paper note card with a deckle edge makes an elegant statement. The image you choose and the the weight and texture of the paper that you use to stamp on can make all the difference.

For these cards I used Strathmore ivory card blanks with a deckle edge (all the work was already done -- no need to cut and score), chose a stamped image that I liked and stamped it onto the front of the note cards.

Another Valentine's Day Card Idea

This is another Valentine's Day Card idea. I mounted a heart cut from mulbury paper on top of a textured acrylic painted background and then stamped 'love' on top. It's a simple layout but it gets the message across. I like it because you can use it for Valentine's day or you can use it anytime you want to send a card to someone special.

Stamped Tags

Tags are really neat to work with because you can use them for so many different things. They're great for journaling on a scrapbook page, for pocket cards or regular cards, for gifts, for collage and mixed media pieces, or for tagging our handmade goodies.

I blended pigment inks to create the background for this tag, and then I added a stamped flower at the bottom.

Stamping On Painted Papers

I do a lot of work on canvas and acrylic and mixed media papers, and because I tend to be obsessed with minimizing waste I save scraps that I know I'll be able to use again.

When I was working on this 'Thank You ' card I stamped the dancing images on a scrap sheet of acrylic paper that I had already painted on (a remnant from another project) and the burnt orange really did the trick. I liked the way that the painted acrylic background made the dancers appear to 'pop' right off the card and added just the right amount of color to the composition.

Christmas and Holiday Stickers and a Rubber Stamp

When you find cool Christmas and holiday stickers for your cards, go to town and have fun with them. They are always easy to work with and it's very easy to do your layout with them. You get to place your stickers before sticking them down and decide if you like it where you've positioned it; and if you don't like it where it is, then just move it around until you find a placement that you like. You don't have to set anything in place until you're absolutely sure that you like your design. When I was finished with this sticker layout, I just added a stamped message to finish the card.

Stamping On Handmade Paper

I'm so used to stamping on card stock and smooth surfaced papers that I wasn't sure what to expect when I decided to try stamping onto a sheet of handmade paper. I'm happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. I loved the texture that became embedded in the image and the depth that the handmade paper surface created. The handmade paper background seemed to add a whole new dimension.
