There's always that friend that you can't live without... this is a great little note card to send to that person to let them know just how special they are. It's a simple design with a great message :
--One of my greatest blessings is having you for a friend.
I think that anybody who gets a card bearing these sentiments will definitely know that their frindship is treasured...

Bookmarks Done On Recycled Card Stock
All these posts about bookmarks got me in the mood to make a few. I added these to my Etsy store today. I used recycled card stock and some 'wordy' paper that I had. Two of the bookmarks have my 'Shapely Silhouette' girls on them, and one is covered with the same 'wordy' paper that I used for the girl's dresses.

Using Different Textures and Colors for Valentine Cards
Sometimes I like to use unexpected colors and textures for card designs. We always tend to get caught up with using traditional colors to represent the season or the particular celebration. Every now and again it's good to go against the grain.
Instead of using the traditional red and white for this Valentine card, I chose to go with browns and more textured papers giving the card a bit more depth and dimension. It's a simple layout, but it's message is loud and clear. The best part about it is that this is a card that's not restricted to Valentine's Day only, you can send a card like this out at any time during the year just to let someone know how much you care.

The beauty of brown
Brown is such a rich color. Whenever I combine papers using variations of brown hues as the main accent color, I am always pleased with the earthy look that my cards have. By adding a simple birthday embellishment to the torn papers used on this card, I've created a card that would be a great birthday card for anyone; but because of the color palate, this would be a great card for a guy -- no girlie colors here!
