Since I'm really big on utilizing paper scraps, I thought I'd mention using them for simple Christmas trees for cards (I know... we're still in August, but sometimes you really do have to start working on Christmas cards early).
Dig through your scrap pile and find a piece of paper that you like, cut 3 triangles and place one on top of the other to create your tree. Cut a rectangle from another piece of scrap to create your base, set it in place and you're done.

I could make about 9 million christmas trees with the contents of my scrap drawer(s)! You've inspired me to clean them out!
When I first attempted making cards it was step by step what you wrote...only yours are so much better than mine. I obviously didn't continue with card making! Glad you did!
Hi Bobbi,
Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for leaving a comment! I'm glad to know that I've inspired you to re- visit your scrap drawers! I hope that you have fun putting those scraps to good use.
Hi Barbra,
Thank you! I bet that you make great cards, you're way too creative not to!
Wow. I am glad someone is thinking about Christmas early. I have enough paper around that you might just inspire me. But rethinking that.... yours are just so well made, why bother. :-) LOL
Thanks Sandra! I still want to encourage you to try to make some cards though; you never know, you may be pleasantly surprised by the outcome!
I'm not a creative person at all and I'm so happy I have found your blog. You seem to make very simple look very beautiful. I've been struggling for months trying to make cards I like. I made 3 of your Christmas tree cards last nite and I love them!! Maybe no one else will but I think it begins with you yourself liking what you make. Thanks so much and hope you will keep the ideas coming.
Hi Dot,
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your wonderful comment! I am thrilled that you were able to make cards that you love! You are so right when you say that you have to love what you create; that's what makes it all so much fun. Keep creating, and enjoy the outcome!!
